Dance-film

Anya also currently works in Dance-film. Anya’s dance-film ‘The Door (2011) had it’s international debut in 2012, nominated by the WA Screen Academy to enter the NexT International Film Festival (6th edition) in Bucharest, Romania (March –April, 2012) and then again for the 2012 Third Coast Dance Festival, Houston Texas (Sept. 2012).

Prior to this, Anya’s first dance film ‘Catalysts’ (2010) was screened at Australian festival AnyDanceAnyScreen festival in Canberra.

Mentored by internationally acclaimed choreographer and Dance-Film maker Sue Healey, Anya has most recently been the recipient of the Sydney Opera House’s Digital Mentorship Program 2019 to create dance-film ‘Miri & Alan: Dancing with Dad, which has been produced as a sister project to Dance Makers Collective’s live show DADS, premiering a couple of years prior.

Reel-Making

In addition to working as a dancer and emerging choreographer, Anya has begun to use her experience in dance -film to create  performance reels for other dancers, choreographers, directors, musicians and performance artists.
